Big Mac selfmade

The Big Mac is a hamburger sold by the international fast-food chain McDonald's. It was first introduced in 1967 by Jim Delligatti, one of McDonald's franchisees, and has since become one of the company's most famous and best-selling products.

The Big Mac consists of two beef patties, special sauce, iceberg lettuce, American cheese, pickles and onions, served on a three-piece sesame seed bun. The exact recipe for the special sauce is a closely guarded secret at McDonald's.

It is all the better to present the slightly modified Big Mac in the self-made creation.

Preparation in 6 steps

Start by peeling the onion and cutting it into small cubes. Then wash the lettuce and tear it into large pieces.

The ground beef should be formed into four equal-sized balls and then pressed into thin burger patties using a burger press. The patties should then be covered and refrigerated for a while.

Preheat the hob with a pan and some oil or the gas grill with a reversible plate to direct high heat.

Halve two burger buns horizontally and cut off the top and bottom of the remaining two burger buns. Remove the middle slice of bread. Then briefly toast the top, bottom and middle slices on all cut edges in melted butter in the pan or on the reversible plate for a few minutes.

Fry or grill the patties for a few minutes per side. Then bring them to the desired doneness on the grill in the indirect zone. Add a slice of cheese and let the cheese melt slightly. Repeat the process with a second patty.

Spread a tablespoon of burger sauce on the bottom and middle buns. Place lettuce, onions and cucumbers on the buns and then place the patties on top. Place the middle part on the bottom part of the burger, finish the burger with the top half of the bun and finally serve.
