Vegan BBQ Sauce
Vegan BBQ sauce is a wonderful alternative for anyone who wants to avoid animal products. It is made from natural ingredients such as tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, garlic and onions. These ingredients are cooked together and then pureed into a smooth sauce. Sometimes smoke flavors are added to create the typical BBQ taste.
Vegan BBQ sauce goes perfectly with grilled vegetables, tofu or seitan or on a great burger. It is spicy, sweet and smoky and gives any dish a strong flavor. It is also healthy because it contains no artificial additives and usually has less sugar than conventional BBQ sauces.

Preparation in 5 steps
Start by peeling and finely chopping the garlic.
Put the ketchup, tomato paste, water and garlic in a saucepan. Let it simmer on the stove over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
Put all the remaining ingredients in the saucepan and let the sauce simmer on a low heat until it reaches a thickened texture.
The sauce should now be pureed with a hand blender on a low setting until it becomes smooth and thick.
Pour the BBQ sauce into a serving bowl or, for example, into sterilized screw-top jars, in portions. Close the jars tightly and let them cool upside down. Store in a cool place, protected from sunlight.
